# Command: PAUSE-MAVLINK-UPDATE

Format: PAUSE-MAVLINK-UPDATE

Example: `PAUSE-MAVLINK-UPDATE`

Disables the device's ability to send position updates to the ROV. Other operations (for example, locating the ROV and sending updates messages to the remote host) continue as normal (note it is also possible to pause all operations, see the [PAUSE ](/c/ethernet-rov-locator/communicating-with-the-rovl/messages-from-host-to-rovl/valid-commands-from-host-to-rovl-ethernet-only/command-pause.md)command).

A text message is sent to the host when entering MAVLink update mode:

`$DVTXT,MAVLink update paused`
