# Manifold 5L Subsea Ethernet Hub

The Cerulean Sonar Manifold 5L Switch and Cerulean Sonar Manifold 5S Smart Switch constitute a family of subsea five-port 300-meter pressure-rated Power-over-Ethernet (POE) switches designed for use on Remotely-Operated Vehicles (ROV), Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV), and tethered underwater instrumentation packages.

The Manifold 5L is a basic 5-port 10/100 Ethernet switch with Power-Over-Ethernet support.

The Manifold 5S is a 5-port Ethernet switch with one ethernet port used for a Brain that enables smart ports for serial, USB, and I2C devices.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The Manifold 5S is not available for individual sale at this time.
{% endhint %}

Either variant can optionally have a tether interface installed. When installed, the tether interface consumes one Ethernet port.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.ceruleansonar.com/c/manifold-5l-and-manifold-5s-ethernet-switch/manifold-5l-subsea-ethernet-hub.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
