# Ethernet / Power over Ethernet (POE)

The Manifold 5S has five Ethernet connectors.

* Three connectors marked "ETHER" that are always usable as Ethernet connections to the switch (circled in red in image below).
* One connector marked "XETH1", which can be used as an Ethernet connection to the switch only if the Brain *is not installed* (connector circled in red in image below).
* One connector marked "XETH2", which can be used as an Ethernet connection to the switch only if the Tether Interface *is not installed* (connector circled in red in image below).
