# Main Input

The Manifold 5S generally has a main input that supplies power and an Ethernet connection to the system IP network. For example, this could be a POE cable to the Ethernet switch or the Raspberry Pi inside the main electronics enclosure of a BlueROV.

The "power" component of the cable connects to the "POWER IN" terminals of the Manifold 5S (see green circle in the image below). Be sure to observe proper input voltage per the specification. Make sure the polarity is correct.

The Ethernet component of the cable connects to one of the three "ETHER" connectors (circled in red below). In some circumstances the XETH1 or XETH2 connector could also be used. See the [Ethernet connection](/c/manifold-5l-and-manifold-5s-ethernet-switch/connection-information/ethernet-power-over-ethernet-poe.md) page for more information.

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.ceruleansonar.com/c/manifold-5l-and-manifold-5s-ethernet-switch/connection-information/main-input.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
