# SonarView Transducer Tests

The transducer tests are located in the Advanced Settings tab when an Omniscan is connected.

## Drive Test

The drive test estimates whether a working transducer is connected by sending multiple pings and interpreting the returned signal. It's most useful if it appears that a transducer has a poor connection while submerged.

For the best results, the Omniscan should be in the water with a short test range (0.5 - 1 m).

## Tap Test

The tap test puts the Omniscan in a mode with short pings followed by long listening times. The test waits for a firm tap on the transducer housing (e.g. with a finger or screwdriver). If a tap is detected, SonarView displays "**Tap Detected**"; otherwise, it displays **"No Tap Detected."**
