# Ping View

The **Ping** view provides a close-up look at the points being collected. If channel data is enabled — which you can turn on in the far-left drawer — you’ll also see a beamforming image, shown as the yellow data behind the points:

The blue line indicates the detected bottom, which also corresponds to the strong returns visible in the beamformed image. This view can serve as a useful diagnostic tool. Right-clicking in the view opens a context menu that lets you choose which OS3D device’s data is displayed and adjust the beamformed image settings.
