# Hints and Tips

Keep your ROV's software up to date, including ArduSub and the Companion software.

Keep your ROVL and Tracker 650 software up to date.

Make sure the GNSS compass is not shaded or obscured by your boat or other topside equipment or objects.

If you don't want to switch your PC's Wi-Fi back and forth between the Omnitrack Wi-Fi network and your normal home/work network, you can get an inexpensive Wi-Fi dongle for your PC and leave it bridged with the BlueROV network — or, you can purchase a BaseStation Plus from Cerulean, which combines a Wi-Fi access point, a BlueROV tether interface, and network bridging hardware.
