# Quick Start: Wi-Fi Omnitrack Buoy

### Requirements:

{% hint style="info" %}
This guide is written assuming that the Omnitrack system is outfitted with the MKIII ROVL. If using a different ROVL, the term "Transponder" instead refers to the "Transmitter," and the term "Transceiver" instead refers to the "Receiver."
{% endhint %}

#### Hardware:

* Wi-Fi Omnitrack Buoy
* BaseStation Plus

#### Software:

* [Cerulean SonarView](https://docs.ceruleansonar.com/c/omnitrack/quick-start-guides/broken-reference)
* Any Web Browser

### Setting up the Omnitrack Buoy

1. Unbox Omnitrack. See unboxing/assembly [video](https://vimeo.com/1099511373?share=copy). Be careful not to damage the ROVL Transceiver as its cable is connected to the buoy! Do not forget the included accessory package and ROVL Transponder in the packaging.
2. Assemble the Omnitrack. See unboxing/assembly [video](https://vimeo.com/1099511373?share=copy).

### **BlueROV Transponder Installation and Setup**

Refer to installation instructions [here](https://docs.ceruleansonar.com/c/ethernet-rov-locator/bluerov-transmitter-transponder-installation-and-setup).

### Connecting the Omnitrack to a Network

1. Connect the BaseStation Plus to your PC and follow the PC setup directions [here](https://docs.ceruleansonar.com/c/omnitrack/quick-start-guides/broken-reference). Be sure you attach the antenna before powering on the BaseStation Plus.
2. Install the antenna on the Omnitrack Wi-Fi module. Insert a charged battery into the Wi-Fi module and power it on using the screw-in power switch next to the antenna jack on the Wi-Fi module.
3. If you are using a BaseStation Plus: Turn on the BaseStation Plus. Wait at least 60 seconds for the Wi-Fi to boot, and wait another 60 seconds for the Wi-Fi on the Omnitrack to boot and connect. Your PC should be able to talk to the Omnitrack at this point (try browsing to **<http://192.168.2.9>** from your PC, assuming you have not changed the default addresses).
4. Power the ROV and wait 3 minutes for it to boot. Verify you can browse to the ROV at **<http://192.168.2.2>** (assuming you have not changed the ROV from its default IP address, and that you have set a compatible IP address \[by default 192.168.2.1] for the PC's Ethernet interface you are using to test).
5. Power up the Omnitrack and verify you can browse to it at **<http://192.168.2.9>**.
6. If not in the United States, [check your Wi-Fi country settings](https://docs.ceruleansonar.com/c/omnitrack/omnitrack-wi-fi-module-system/configuring-country-and-antenna-gain-settings).
7. At this point, you should [check the configuration](https://app.gitbook.com/s/lN2lfY7yE0hWlcn6W1BS/configuring-the-rovle) of the ROVL topside transmitter or transceiver, and you should be ready to operate.
8. If you are testing indoors you may want to look [here](https://docs.ceruleansonar.com/c/omnitrack/bench-testing-and-simulation).

### Deploying the Omnitrack
