# Wired Ethernet Connection Setup

1. Set up and power your Omnitrack ROVL per the following directions: <https://docs.ceruleansonar.com/c/ethernet-rov-locator/connecting-and-powering-your-rovle-ethernet-receiver-or-transceiver>
2. Make a connection from the POE setup to the Ethernet adapter (included) and plug the adapter into your computer. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to your computer. If your computer does not have a USB-C port, you can use a USB Type-C to A adapter.
3. Open the Windows **Control Panel** then select **Network and Sharing Center**. If you don’t see Network and Sharing Center, change the **View by:** option to large or small icons.<br>
4.

6. The name of the interface associated with the dongle changes depending on the dongle used, and whether or not you have renamed it. You can figure out which interface is associated with the dongle by unplugging and plugging the adapter and seeing which interface appears and disappears. In the image below, the dongle is called “Realtek USB GbE Family Controller”. Right click on the Ethernet adapter then choose **Properties**.<br>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.ceruleansonar.com/c/omnitrack/wired-ethernet-connection-setup.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
