Powering DC-In

The Network Hub is designed to be powered from a USB-C port on a laptop computer, for the basic load of ROV tether interface plus Omnitrack. The USB-C port must meet the USB-C specification to supply nominally 3A at 5V (not all USB-C meet the USB-C specification). If additional PoE loads are added you may need to use an alternative power source.

You can instead supply power to the Network Hub via its DC-In jack. This is a standard 2.1mm barrel jack with +V on the center pin.

If power is supplied via DC-In, then the USB-C port will draw only a miniscule amount of power from the PC. This should increase the PC battery life.
