Operating CeruleanTracker

Normally, you should have all the hardware devices connected and powered before launching CeruleanTracker. When CeruleanTracker is launched, it shows the tabbed main window (see Figure below). CeruleanTracker remembers the previous configuration of ports and parameters and open windows and restores all of these on launch. Initially (first launch), it will immediately start searching for a DVL on Ethernet, an ROVL Receiver on serial, and a topside GPS on serial. Using the radio buttons on the device tabs you can select different options, such as forcing the PC to look on specific serial ports for specific devices, and/or selecting serial input for the DVL, and/or turning off the search for devices that are not present.

Any serial devices must be connected to the same PC that is running CeruleanTracker to be able to connect.

CeruleanTracker will remember all the interface settings and window open/size/position settings and will restore these when the program is restarted.

CeruleanTracker has an option for logging a mission. The logfile is saved on the desktop. You can open the logfile in Excel to see its contents. If you are having issues, Cerulean may ask you to save a log file and send it to us. You can type free text into the "user log marker" text box and it will inserted into the log file each time you press "Enter".

The main window for CeruleanTracker is shown in the next figure. It is designed to have only the minimum controls and displays needs for most missions. In case you need to change the connections and configurations, you can select the appropriate tab on the top to show additional controls (shown later in the section on input device configuration).
