The Omniscan 450 Compact has a built in Ethernet switch, and can act as a hub for up to 2 additional Ethernet devices. Instructions for adding anther device are below.

  1. Remove the 12 Torx screws from the bottom plate using a T10 Torx driver. Loosen each screw a little at a time, going around to each screw several times.

  1. Remove the 4 screws securing the circuit board using a 2.5mm hex driver.

  1. Remove one of the blank penetrators using a 16mm wrench (or an M10 bulkhead wrench from Blue Robotics as shown).

  1. Prepare the cable. Ethernet connection uses a 4-pin JST GH connector, while the power leads should be stripped and tinned about 7mm. The penetrator holes in the OS450 Compact case accept Blue Robotics M10 WetLink penetrators, but other M10 penetrators may work as well.

  1. Install the Ethernet cable with a greased o-ring and tighten the cable's penetrator while holding the nut on the other side (one of the holes in the OS 450 Compact case is already threaded, so no nut is required).

  1. Install the 4-pin JST GH connector into any of the open PCB connectors labeled "ETHER".

  1. Install power leads into any open terminal block labeled "POWER OUT" using a small flat-head screwdriver.

  1. Reinstall the PCB

  1. Reinstall bottom plate. Tighten each screw a little at a time, going around to each screw several times. Ensure that all the screws are hand tight.
