A power-over-Ethernet cable can be used between an Omnitrack ROVL and the topside tether box.

This POE cable can be at least 50 meters long and possibly more.

When using longer cables you will need to account for the voltage drop. Supplying at least 12V but not more than 24V should be sufficient for any standard cable types.

Resist the temptation to use the POE cable as a tow rope or mooring line — doing so will quickly damage the cable. Be sure the cable is secured at both ends using a thimble or other strain relief device.
