The Serial Interface

The serial interface is a standard TTL-level full-duplex interface. It runs at 115,200 baud, with 8 data bits, one stop bit, and no parity. All the user messages are ASCII. The serial interface is always available.

Serial must be directly connected to a serial port on a computer in the ROV, and it is not nearly as fast as Ethernet, and not all features are available via serial (e.g., MAVlink support). For these reasons we recommend using the Ethernet interface if possible.
