Adjust Breakaway Latch

Set the BlueBoat or BlueBuoy on something high enough so the Sting can be put in deployed position. A couple of cases of beer on top of the workbench is usually about right.

Pull the quick-release-0.25 pin that holds the Sting in transport position, and swing the Sting around to deployed position. Snap the Sting into the break-away latch. Adjust the screw in the latch-sting-mech to set the desired tension using the adjustment screw on the bottom of the letch mechanism. You want the latch to break loose when force is applied as shown by the arrow in the image below. Initially try setting to break away at about 3 lb-f/1.5 kg-f. The purpose of the break-away latch is to prevent the BlueBoat from getting hung up on the bottom or on underwater obstructions. You can adjust the latch break-away force up or down after trying it on the water.
